The Flughafen was the first upcycled design that I put a Flux Bene label on, in 2017. It was originally intended for travel, so I named it after my favorite German word, which means airport.
This top has a cropped hem, large chest pockets, and cuffed short sleeves. It looks great with high-waisted pants & skirts, and is lovely layered over sleeveless tops and dresses. OR even long sleeved ones (Stay cozy, fellow chilly friends!)
To celebrate the upcoming release of our Flughafen PDF sewing pattern on May 15th, (preview here: Flug Sewing Pattern), we are releasing 11 Flughafens featuring pockets pieced into traditional quilt designs.
This Flughafen is crafted in blue, white, and navy striped cotton with indigo-dyed rayon and suns of organic cotton double gauze in mustard yellow.
This Flughafen features:
- Flying Geese patterned chest pockets
- Hand dyed indigo hem tape
- Our original hand printed tag
- Double-sided cuffed sleeves that can be worn folded or straight
- Indigo-dyed side panels with enclosed seams
Flughafens can be worn open or closed. If you would like the option to wear yours buttoned, we recommend ordering a Jacket that has chest, waist, and hip measurements at least 2" above your own body measurements. The full measurements of this top can be seen in the final photo.
Because all materials have been pre-washed, you don't need to worry about your Flux Bene shrinking or stretching. All are machine washable and can be tumble dried.
All Flux Bene pieces are One-of-a-kind, Zero-waste, and Gender neutral.
