Flughafen Pattern Update

Flughafen Pattern Update

Hi!

I had intended to release the Flughafen pdf sewing pattern today, but I'm not!

Releasing our first pattern on the same day as our largest ever collection of original work is just too much.

I have worked hard and long on this pattern & instruction booklet, and I want to make sure that I give it a proper send-off. I want to feel really, really good about it. I don't want to waste your time with an illustration or instruction that could be made more simple or more clear. My intuition is telling me that May 14th is the right day, so that is when it will be.

I do hate to disappoint though! So here's what I can offer right now. While you are waiting to download the pattern, you can start sourcing the shirt that you want to upcycle, and the materials that you will need.

Here is the page from the instruction booklet that details that part of the process. There are important notes about what to look for when sourcing your second hand shirt in the thrift shop. Please excuse typos, editing continues...:

(This image can be saved & enlarged for ease of reading.)

I hope that this is helpful to you, and that you are able to get started on the process ahead of the pattern launch. May 14th should give you plenty of time to have your custom version ready for backyard summer hangs. Maybe we can all wear our Flugs on Memorial Day and begin summer in our new custom upcycles!
I also started a #flughafentop hashtag on IG, if you are looking for some inspiration. Feel free to reach out to me via email or DM if you have questions while souring your shirt or fabric. It may take me a day or two, but I will respond.
Thank you, as always, for your patience and understanding while I learn to take things one step at a time instead of doing every single thing at once and dropping them all!
